Joy by Jean Patou is a classic, highly floral fragrance renowned for its high concentration of rare and expensive ingredients, particularly jasmine and rose. It’s known as one of the costliest perfumes in the world, with the original creation using over 10,000 jasmine flowers and 300 roses per ounce. The scent is described as a rich, floral, and often feminine, with notes of jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang, tuberose, and a base of musk and sandalwood. Joy was voted “Scent of the Century” at the 2000 FiFi Awards, an honor it earned over other well-known fragrances. This original scent was discontinued in 2018.
